Fees and Funding
Victorian residents who undertake workshop-based or blended training may be eligible for Commonwealth and Victorian Government Funding (Skills First previously known as Victorian Training Guarantee) – see our Fees and Funding page for more information.
Assessment tasks are practical and, where possible, oriented to your work or placement context for relevance. They consist of a variety of tasks requiring the ability to research, analyse and present your responses in written form, including reports and practical demonstrations. Feedback on completion of tasks is given as you progress through the course.
This approach enables you to complete this course efficiently and effectively. If you are already working in an education support role, you may find that you are able to complete the assessment tasks more quickly.
There are no specific entry requirements, however to gain maximum benefit, you will need to be able to speak, read and write fluently in English, as well as have basic computer and internet skills and reliable access. It is recommended that applicants have completed to at least a Year 11 secondary school level, however, all applicants will be required to undertake a pre-training review, including language, literacy and numeracy skills.
Special note regarding employment after completion of this course
There are requirements for working and learning in the education sector that all applicants should be aware of prior to enrolment. You will be required to undergo a Working With Children check, as well as a National Police Check. In addition, registered schools will require you to have a current Working With Children (WWC) check. See our page for more information about the WWC.
Please consider this information carefully prior to enrolment to ensure you will be eligible to fulfil these requirements, as Phillips Institute cannot be held responsible for an inability of any student to meet their practical placement assessment requirements which are a non-negotiable component of this program.
