The accredited course previously known as HLTHSE204D – Follow safe manual handling practices has been renamed as HLTWHS005 – Conduct manual tasks safely.  This comprises the current approach to the teaching and learning of safe manual handling practices.

If you’re looking for the very latest in short course training for Manual Handling, then this is the course for you.

This short course is for individuals who work in the health services assistance, health support services, aged care, disability, or home and community environments the ability to carry out their work in a safe manner.  These workers perform a range of functions involving various procedures and routines which, if not undertaken correctly, may cause injury to self or others.

The Phillips Institute Manual Handling course includes:

  • how to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks
  • the knowledge to follow safe procedures which minimise risk of injury
  • how to prepare for and complete those tasks in a safe manner.

Phillips Institute’s qualified instructors deliver on-site training for staff annual updates, inductions and professional development, or half-day workshops at the Carnegie training facility.

Cost: $95 per participant; group discounts for 8 or more staff with on-site delivery

As this is delivered as non-accredited training, there are no assessments to be completed after training. A Certificate of Participation will be issued on completion of the workshop.
