The first step in establishing a real estate career is to become an Agent’s Representative. Successful completion of this short course enables you to perform a variety of real estate roles under the supervision of a licensed estate agent. This qualification includes the three modules for the (Victorian) Agent’s Representative course.

Once your Agent’s Representative units are completed, you will then go on to complete the full qualification.

This is the nationally recognised qualification that is essential for those who want to become fully licensed Real Estate agents in Australia.  With all 24 units of competency available, you could achieve the CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) with this course.

Delivery Options

This course is offered as regular facilitator-led, class-based study with the flexibility of selected units available as distance learning enabling you to study at your own pace, whenever and however it suits you.  With this blended approach, we will supply you with full resources for the entire course enabling you to get started as soon as your enrolment is confirmed. You can work through the 24 required units of this program over a period of 6 months, with the option to extend for three months if required.  Our qualified and experienced training team will provide full support with monthly monitoring of your progress and frequent feedback.

Practical assessments

Assessment tasks are practical and, where possible, oriented to your work context for relevance. They consist of a variety of tasks requiring the ability to research, analyse and present your responses in written form, including reports and practical demonstrations. Feedback on completion of tasks is given as you progress through the course.

This approach enables you to complete this course efficiently and effectively.  If you are already working in a real estate agency, you may find that you complete the assessment tasks even more quickly, potentially completing all course requirements in a matter of weeks.

Entry Requirements

Please note:  this course is packaged to meet Victorian industry requirements.

There are no specific entry requirements, however to gain maximum benefit, you will need to be able to speak, read and write fluently in English, as well as have basic computer and internet skills and access.  If you are already working in the industry, you may find you are able to complete some modules as distance-based or online.

Special note regarding employment after completion of this course

There are requirements for licensing in the real estate industry that all applicants should be aware of prior to enrolment. To be registered as a Real Estate Agent in Victoria with the Business Licensing Authority (BLA), graduates of this course must not:
be disqualified from holding an estate agent’s licence or acting as an agent’s representative (or equivalent);
be a director or an officer of a company disqualified from holding an estate agent’s licence (or equivalent);
have been a director or an officer of a company when it was disqualified from holding an estate agent’s licence (or equivalent);
be a represented person under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986;
be the subject of an order by any regulatory body disqualifying you from acting as an estate agent or agent’s representative.
Please consider this information carefully prior to enrolment to ensure you will be eligible to apply for your licence post certification, as Phillips Institute cannot be held responsible for a refusal of your application with the BLA.
