Providing permission to view your USI

When applying for enrolment, you can choose to advise us of units you already hold from previous study so that we can grant credit transfers for you.  When we approve credit transfers for your enrolment, it means we recognise the results you received from any other training organisation so that you don’t have to do the study again.  If you’re paying for your study yourself, it also means you don’t pay for those units, so we can reduce the overall cost of your fees.

The best way to apply for credit transfer (for any VET-related study completed since January 1, 2015) is to provide us with your permission to view and verify your USI transcript.

To provide permission for us to view or verify your USI transcript, follow these instructions:

  • Log into your USI account
  • Select ‘View VET Transcript’
  • Tick that you have read the information and go to next page
  • Select ‘Download Transcript’
  • Select ‘Yes’ for the question ‘Do you want to create a viewable online VET transcript’?
  • Select any time limit
  • Select ‘Next’
  • Upload the PDF to your registration, or if you have already enrolled as a student with us,
    send it to info@phillips.edu.au

Creating your Unique Student Identifier (USI)

When you enrol with Phillips Institute, we can apply for your USI for you – in this case, you can provide your consent for us to apply on your behalf when you enrol.

Alternatively, you can apply for your USI yourself then provide to us during your application for enrolment.

Since 1 January 2015, everyone undertaking nationally recognised training needs to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) in order to obtain their certificate, diploma or statement of attainment.  It’s an easy way to keep a record of all your training and education results.  At Phillips Institute, we will ask you for your USI when you apply for enrolment for any of our nationally recognised training programs.
